SCORE, "Counselors To America's Small Business," is a nonprofit association dedicated to providing NO-COST, personalized, confidential face-to-face counseling to help you start-up a new business, secure financing, or operate, manage, and/or expand an existing business. SCORE volunteers consist of working and retired business owners, executives, and professionals donating their time and expertise in any number of disciplines (accounting, marketing, procurement, manufacturing, sales, etc.) as business counselors and mentors. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
What Is the SCORE Association?
The SCORE Association is a nonprofit association comprised of approximately 11,000 volunteer business counselors throughout the U.S. and its territories. There are 389 SCORE chapters in urban, suburban and rural communities. SCORE members are trained to serve as counselors and mentors to aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners. These services are offered at no fee, as a community service. SCORE was formed in 1964 and over 7 million Americans have used SCORE services. The Lynchburg Chapter was established in 1984.
Are Business Secrets Safe with SCORE?
Yes. All SCORE business counselors honor the client's right to proprietary and confidential information. Client information remains confidential. All SCORE counselors abide by an association Code of Ethics, which includes protecting the confidences between client and counselor.
